What the ... classic game?!?!?

I was channel surfing and noticed that NHLTV shows classic hockey games. Now that was no surprise, in fact I expected they would show classic games. I guess I just have a different definition of what a classic game would be.

To me a classic game would be the older ones, or at least games that are over 20 years old. Kind of like how a classic car is a car 20+ years old. It would also be a game that was special for some reason, be it a record that was reached, a match up of players or teams at the time, or some similar criteria. Not NHLTV.

NHLTV has a bizarre idea of what a classic game is. They have been showing games from last year under the banner of classic games. What the kimch .... errr ... maple syrup?!?!?! A game that is a year old being labelled classic? That is a pretty huge stretch of the word classic.

I wish they would show classic games. REAL classic games. I was considering getting the NHL channel once the freebie ends but really it doesn't show anything special. I can get NHL On The Fly on YouTube or download it as a torrent. The games it shows as classics I can still find on torrent sites if I wanted to watch games from last year that really weren't that special. Why waste my money? Easy answer. I won't.

I haven't been able to load blogspot since the weekend. Mind you, my mind has been elsewhere since Monday. I may or may not write about it ... not sure if I want to or not. The feelings are still a little raw. I will have a shit you don't have to say post once I get things together.

What the ... Catholic Craziness?!?!?

I have never been much for organized religion and after hearing the shit that spewed out of the Catholic church last week it makes me wonder how anyone can support the church.

Basically, the U.S. study done for the Catholic church said that the molestation is the result of the 60's

Terry said that the 1960s and '70s were a period that saw "patterns of increased deviance of society", and the church sex abuse scandal developed parallel to that decline in social mores.

"The social influences intersected with vulnerabilities of some individual priests whose preparation for a life of celibacy was inadequate at that time," Terry said.

and that it isn't pedophilia if the "child" is over 10 years of age.

"Most of the priests who had allegations of abuse are not pedophiles," the lead investigator for the study, Karen Terry of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice, told reporters.

"Most of the priests who had allegations of abuse, abused pubescent or post-pubescent minors," said Terry, while the victims of pedophiles are defined in the study as being 10 years old or younger.

Seriously? Just because you assholes define the age doesn't mean that is reality.

Calling these people fucktards just doesn't do justice to their stupidity and the lengths the Catholic church will go to try and gloss shit over. They could teach the Japanese lessons on excusing bad behaviour, hiding it, or rewriting history.

I have always said that Muslims need to speak out against the extremists who commit acts of terror in the name of Islam. The same standard should be applied to everyone. Catholics need to speak out against this horse shit or else they are condoning it. Time to tell your pope and his cronies that they need to smarten the fuck up and stop being such assholes.

What the ... rapture?

So I heard people going on about "rapture". I start thinking that Blondie must be doing a huge world wide tour if everyone is talking about that song. Then I watch the news and see that they are talking about some moron named Harold Camping has set the date for "the rapture" to happen and the chosen to be sucked up to heaven. It is supposed to happen tomorrow (Sunday) at 6.

Funnily enough the twat, Camping, called for the rapture to hit in 1994 (I believe it was 94). When it didn't happen he blamed faulty calculations and set the date for tomorrow. And his followers fell for it. Again.

These idiots crowed in the media that they have sold their assets off and quit their jobs to prepare. The weatherman is calling for heavy ridicule for them Sunday with a miniscule chance of enlightenment shining through for a few who are capable of realizing just how idiotic they were.

Don't you hate it when ...

Don't you hate it when your friend acts like a mook?

I was going to meet some friends for coffee tonight, one of them was picking me up. Long story short, my mother had a health related incident and I would rather make sure she is ok tonight than go out. So, I call my friend who is picking me up, get voice mail, and leave him a message explaining things around 2PM.

He calls while I am out mowing the lawn after supper so I call him back when I am done. Voice mail again. I leave a message that I am going to hop in the shower and call in 30+ minutes. Of course he calls while I am in the shower. Mind you I knew he would, as Koreans would say, that is his style. He leaves a message saying his phone will be on, call when I can.

I call, and get his fucking voice mail again. I leave a message AGAIN retsating what happened and that I am not going. End of the tale? No.

He calls me at 8PM to say he will be on his way to pick me up in a few minutes. He hadn't even listened to his fucking voice mail! He had no clue I wasn't going. He hadn't even listened to the message I left him SIX hours earlier! Why even have voice mail if you don't check it? Then again why say "call my phone will be on and you won't get sent to voice mail" when you obviously didn't do that?

It has been a stressful day and I really didn't need the extra stupidity.

Mook of the Week

Today seems to be the day to do Mooks and Mutts. Last week on the way to my brother's we encountered one of the most mooktastic fucktards I have ever seen with a dog.

This stupid piece of shit we will call Black Tacoma EPS 586, was driving along in his black Tacoma pick up with his German Shepherd IN BACK. Not only is it illegal here it is fucking insane! If he took a sharp turn , stopped quickly, or got into an accident the dog is at the least hurt.

As if that wasn't bad enough, and it doesn't show up in the pictures, the asshole had the dog TIED to the left side of the truck! So, if something happened, the dog would be thrown and have his neck snapped by the god damn rope! What a complete fucking idiot.

I could see a cunning stunt like this driving around with his kids in the back of the truck too. Wouldn't be surprised if he tied a rope around their neck convinced it would make for a safer ride.

EPS 586 you aren't just a mook of the highest order you are someone I hope to find when I am driving the car. Some people should not have pets.

What the ... things you don't say 3?!?!?!?

I was walking the dog yesterday which is nothing new. We walk 3 times a day, sometimes 4. Lately we have been going for even longer walks. The tumour on his leg is getting bigger but it still doesn't inhibit him. He still has a good quality of life and until the tumour starts to ulcerate or he doesn't want to walk any more, life goes on. He is a happy dog and loved. But I digress.

We ended up running into a friend of my mom's on the way home last night. An older man, who saw the tumour and just felt he had to say

"The tumour is a lot bigger. I would have had him put down by now."

Why the fuck would you say something like that? Fine it is bigger than the last time you saw it but you have to say you would have the dog put down? Luckily, it isn't your decision. Here you have an old man, whose mobility is limited due to age and arthritis. A man who could kick off at any time and he feels he has to chime in and say he would have the dog put down. My reply

"Good thing you aren't my grandfather. I would have had you put down by now."

And we went home. I expect bitching from my mother but stand by what I said. Fucking mooks.

Whiney Bitches

I have watched many different reality shows. Some I liked, many I thought sucked. One thing that always seemed to happen at the end of the shows where there was a "jury" type mechanism to pick the winner is that many of the jury just whined.

Take the lastest survivor. How many of the jury members whined about the 3 finalists not deserving to be there? On some shows you hear them go on about how they should be there and not so and so.

If they made it there, and tricked you to get there in the process, in a game where you should KNOW people WILL be out to deceive you, then YOU do not deserve to be there.

"You made and broke alliances. " "You lied." Well guess what princess, you BELIEVED the lies when YOU should have known better.

What the ... I was right?!?!?!

I was going to Sobey's the other day and heard my name shouted. Naturally, I stopped and looked in the direction of the shout. Now the entrance to Sobey's is pretty big, there is lots of walking room. I was about 6 inches or less from a wall to my right. To my left there was about 3-4 feet of empty sidewalk space. Can you guess what happened?

Yeah, you probably guessed right, some mook decided he would go through the smallest available space. Now when I stopped he wasn't right behind me. It was a good 5 seconds after I stopped before he did this. (Turns out I wasn't being called, another "Flint" was. Took a few seconds to sort out. Too bad, the one who shouted my name was HOT.)

I haven't had this happen too often in Canada. In fact I can't even remember the last time it happened here. In South Korea this was close to a daily occurrence. It wouldn't be unusual for it to happen a few times a day. So, what do I do in reflex? Before even looking at him I tell the guy he is a stupid idiot in Korean.

Surprise surprise ... he says "How did you know I was Korean!"

All I could think of to say was "Because only a Korean would be stupid enough to do what you just did. Lots of space on this side. Almost no space here. So you just try and walk through me."

He had no reply and just shambled off into Sobey's.

Sadly, if you are a Korean or Koreanphile, even after being out of South Korea a year when faced with certain kinds of rude behaviour it is easy to assume the person doing it is Korean without even looking at them. Kind of like when I was in China and some mook was shouting "Hello Hello" out a van window. I assumed he was Korean and I was right.

Puke and Shit Stories

I don't know why but it always seems that when family or friends get together and drink the discussion devolves to shit and/or puke stories. Which can get real interesting when a Sister, Sister-in-law, and Niece are nurses. What brought this one? Sitting around with family the other day and said stories started flowing. No pun intended.

One that always makes me laugh, in retrospect, happened when I was babysitting 2 of my nieces. They were about 10 and 7 at the time. I made spaghetti for supper which was a bad choice. One of them wasn't feeling good and just after finishing eating had to run to the bathroom to throw up. She almost made it to the toilet when she pretty much projectile vomited AT the toilet. The bathroom was a mess but she didn't even get splatter on her clothes.

My niece was an emotional mess because of what happened. I cleaned her face up in the kitchen and went to clean up. She was crying and her younger sister was trying to console her. When I walked into the bathroom the odour hit me and I started gagging. I just made it onto the back deck before I chundered. THAT cheerd up my niece. She almost peed herself laughing because she made me puke. :)

I ended up having to use a make shift mask to be able to clean the bathroom. y niece was still laughing when I finished. We still chuckle about that from time to time.

Don't you hate it when ...

Don't you hate it when you call a store or company and the very first thing the answering machine does is drone on about their website? If I wanted to check out their website odds are I would have done that BEFORE calling them. Often I get their bloody phone number off of their cursed website in order to call them because their website doesn't answer the question(s) I have. If I wanted their website I wouldn't be calling the damn store.

Our Rainy Season

I haven't really experienced a spring in Canada in the last 10 years until now. Damned if it doesn't remind me of Rainy Season in Korea. Different time of the year but the same grey skies and deluges. I saw a bit of a shiny orb in the sky the other day but it has been so long that I can't remember what we called it. ;)

The main difference between Spring and Rainy season is fog, rain amount, and humidity. We get a LOT of fog here and in Cheongju there wasn't much. During Rainy it would rain for a shorter period but a lot more came down in that time frame. Or that is how it seemed. The humidity is no where near as high, nor the temperature, as it was during the Rainy Seasons I experienced in Korea.

Mook of the Week

Since I have been remiss in posting these mooks I guess it is ok to post a few a week to pick up the slack. ;)

It was a foggy rainy Spring day, the same day we encountered the mook in the previous post. We were heading downtown. The road we were on was four lane before this picture was taken. After a traffic light it channels into a 2 lane like the one in the picture.

As we were coming up to the traffic light doing the speed limit of 60 KPH this mook, Nova Scotia license ETC 646, is racing up behind us doing at least 100 KPH. He cut into the lane beside us in front of a car. Then he cut in front of us. All of this got him to the red light in front of us instead of behind us.

As soon as the light changed to green he burned rubber through it. He went fast enough that I couldn't get the camera out in time to get a picture of him at the light. If the car that was ahead of him hadn't been there, doing the speed limit, I wouldn't have gotten any pics of the idiot.

He rode the ass of the guy in front of him until the guy did a right turn. In the end, for all of his speed and stupidity, mook ETC 646 never got further than a car length ahead of where he would have been. What a putz.

Bin Laden is dead. The End?

So they finally got the bastard. That was nice to hear. A double tap to the head and dumped in the ocean. I am not normally a conspiracy theorist but I could easily believe he isn't really dead. They could just be saying that and have him tucked away in some anonymous place pumped up with drugs spilling his guts to be executed at a later date. Either way I don't care as long as he ends up dead. It couldn't happen to a more deserving scumbag.

Mook of the Week

I had a LOT of mooks to choose from for this. All driving mooks of one sort or another. The mook we will look at today brought back memories of my university days.

My buddy T and I used to commute to university together. We encountered so many driving mooks that it was enough to drive you crazy some days. Of course this lead to a discussion or five about the worst drivers on the road.

T swore that there was a tie for worst driver. Old man wearing hats and young women driving Fireflies. The old men were usually so focused on what is straight ahead as they drove 20+ KM UNDER the speed limit that they didn't notice what was going on around them. The young women were usually smokers and paying more attention to their smoking and music than driving.

T is a wise man. We would keep track of the mooks on the road and I swear that most of them back then were old men in hats. There were a goodly number of young women driving fireflies but they were out numbered by the geezer brigade.

I went downtown with my mom this morning. Yet another foggy spring day. On the way home we came up behind a car doing about 40 KPH in a 70KPH zone. We were turning off the road soon so it wasn't worth passing him. It was driven by ... an old man in a hat.

The mook actually started going slower and weaving a bit. He was busy talking to whoever was sitting in the passenger seat and oblivious to the road. When he started weaving mom decided she definitely wasn't going to try and pass him, a decision I agreed with. I would rather let a traffic hazard like that stay well in front of me instead of getting hit passing him.

He ended up turning off before us so I was able to get a good look at him and determine that yes it was an old man in a hat. T, if you are reading this, you are still right. :)

So if you see this mook, EBV 081, on the road be careful around him because you can be sure he is giving no thought to those around him.
